Will there be a Destiny 3?

  • 362
  • 0
There has been much speculation from fans as to when and if we will see a Destiny 3, with Destiny 2 being two years old now and heading into year three you would think plans would be in place for the next game in the sequel, however, fans may be waiting a little longer and here is why.

Destiny 2 seems to be in a really good place at the moment with the Season of Undying being right around the corner and also Shadowkeep coming along with it and bringing the game free to play also, they are looking pretty solid and the game now seems to be operating on a five-year plan. With the announcement of them being on a five-year deal now any plans for Destiny 3 seemed to have been shelved at least for now.

It's looking as though with the divorce from Activision and Bungie being solely allowed to work on Destiny 2 on their own now and the idea of free play being made a reality, they do not see any reason to rush out a new Destiny game.

Shadowkeep will allow Bungie to release a whole lot of...
Cross-Progression and cross-save active in Call of Duty Modern Warfare?

Call of Duty Modern Warfare's Beta is active this weekend with those who have early access able to play two days earlier than those who are only eligible for the open beta which starts on Saturday 21st September. As we know, cross-play is enabled for this beta this weekend which enables players to be able to play with their friends regardless of whether they are on PC, Xbox One or PS4.

Cross-play, however, is completely different to cross-progression and cross-save, with cross-progression and cross-save this allows a player of a game to be able to take saves of the game over with them between different platforms so, for example, you can play the campaign on Xbox One and save and continue where you left off on PC without any issues.

This was not announced as going to be activated this weekend for the beta but it would seem that it is active, the last we heard from Infinity Ward was that they would be looking into activating cross-progression and cross-save, could this be them...

Gears 5 was released on 6th September for early access and released to everyone on Tuesday 10th of September and now stats have come to light which shows that Gears 5 had the biggest launch party known to date, Halo 4 had a pretty big launch party but Gears 5 has managed to surpass that!

Gears 5 has seen over 3 million players since it was released which has been said to have easily doubled the number of players on the first week of Gears of War 4. This has now made Gears 5 have the "biggest launch week of any Xbox Game Studios title this generation." What an absolutely amazing record for Xbox!

Stats were taken from the launch of the Gears 5 early access on September 6th all the way through to this past weekend the 13th-16th September.

Not only did Gears 5 break records for being the biggest launch week of any Xbox Game Studios title but it also set new records as well. First party records were also set on PC, it became the biggest launch on Xbox Game Pass and it was also the...
Gamestop's New Store Design Leaked!

It would seem that a recent leak has shown exactly what Gamestop's redesign will look like after GameStop store in Pryor, Oklahoma posted a Facebook video which seemed to show a tour around a newly laid out store. This has since been confirmed as being a true leak by a source familiar with GameStop’s operation, they have asked to be kept anonymous though so we do not have a name.

The confirmation is that the store in the video does match the blueprint that they have of the redesigns which were shown at Gamestop's annual conference.

According to sources from IGN, Oklahoma does have a test store which is the same state that this tour video was from. Even though this store in Oklahoma looks the way it does, another source who is familiar with the future of Gamestop and their reboot plans has said that not all stores will look like this one. Some of the stores that are...
Games industry ripping off children?

We mentioned late last week about how loot boxes in games should have gambling warnings especially when it comes to games that are targetted at children. Games such as Overwatch are one of the many games that offer loot boxes that you can either earn in-game by playing or by purchasing them using real money which can often lead to addiction trying to get what you want from the loot boxes.

It has now come to light that the gaming industry that is worth around $137.9bn (£110bn) seem to be making their profits by ripping off children. In these games, many children are often pushed into not only playing the game to earn the loot boxes but in pure desperation to get something rare will also put money into the games until they get what they want which can often run into not only the $100's but also the $1000's just for one person. Many children have said that spending money in games is what makes the game fun to play with others openly saying that they believe video games try to make...
Discord no longer offering game subscription

It's looking as though Discord was not the place gamers wanted to be when it came to subscribing to a service for games or at least Discord seems to believe so.

Back last year, Discord released a bundle of games that were available to those who used their Nitro subscription service, this service costs $9.99 or if you were to pay annually it would be $99. Discord is now saying that a vast majority of people who were Nitro subscribers were not playing the games that were coming with the subscription so they will be instead removing the game bundles from discord and will not be continuing with their contracts when the current contract expires.

This means that on the 15th October 2019, the games bundle will disappear from Discord. So what happens with those who paid for Discord Nitro annually? For those who paid for Discord Nitro annually and may have done so for the games, they will be able to receive a refund if they wish but Discord Nitro will be staying at the same price both...
Could Fortnite be getting a new map in Season 11?

Data miners have been at it again and we now had leaked game files that show the possibility of a new map coming to Fortnite in Season 11. Season X has not been the greatest of seasons coming from Fortnite with many players complaining about how they are finding the game boring and too much the same with a new map never making an appearance.

At the moment in Season X, we are seeing slight map changes coming into the game each week and most of them coming with rift zones with the most recent map changes being Greasy Grove making a comeback with a Taco Theme and Moisty Palms replacing what was Moisty Mire and Paradise Palms and that becoming a Prop area where players can change into an object to hide from enemies.

Now we are seeing new names coming from leaked game files which looks very much like potential new places on the map and could indicate a whole new map. So, what names have been leaked? There are quite a few which is why speculation is so high in terms of a new map. Here...
Destiny 2: Weapons being buffed for Shadowkeep

Last week we mentioned how there was going to be a huge nerf to supers and buff stacking when Shadowkeep is released but now we have some good news that will make Destiny 2 players a lot more happier.

All weapons will be getting buffs to PvE damage, this seems to be the way Bungie would like to handle things when it comes to reshaping the meta for when Shadowkeep arrives.

Firstly, let's start with the weapons and how much of a buff they will be getting.

Auto-Rifles will be getting a 25 - 30% damage buff but this will depend on the enemy rank.
Bows will see a 31% damage buff to minor enemies with a 26% damage buff to major enemies.
Hand Cannons will see a 30% damage buff against minor enemies and also a supposedly fixed cannon bloom for 140/150s
Machine Guns will see a 25% damage buff against minor enemies
Pulse Rifles will see a 28% damage buff against minor enemies
Scout Rifles will see an 18-36% damage buff depending on the enemy rank
Sidearms will see a 16% damage buff to...
Fortnite dethroned as the most played game on Xbox!

It has been a long time coming but it would seem that Fortnite has finally been dethroned as the most played game on Xbox One. For well over a year at least, Fortnite was the most played game on Xbox One alone and one of the main reasons behind that was because it was a free game and it became very popular due to streamers such as Ninja playing it quite a lot when streaming.

Gears 5 was released earlier this week and so far it's been doing really well with many saying that this may be the best game in the franchise yet.

Being that Gears 5 has dethroned Fortnite as the most played game on Xbox One, it would definitely seem that many gamers are for sure, enjoying Gears 5. The fact that Gears 5 is also available on Game Pass at a low monthly fee, that may have definitely helped in Gears 5 reigning over Fortnite. The gaining access to the game early as well if you were an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate member was a huge incentive and not one many were wanting to turn down, I mean, who...
Loot boxes in video games gambling?
  • 315

Loot boxes are in-game rewards that can either be earned by playing the game or you also have the option to purchase them using real money. For those who tend to purchase them using real money, it can be quite addictive and therefore has caused a debate as to whether loot boxes in games promote and encourage gambling and should, therefore, have a warning about being gamble aware.

With loot boxes, you are not guaranteed to get something you want whether you received the loot box through playing the game or through a real-money purchase which means those who purchased the loot boxes with real money can easily become addicted until they get the item they want in the game. So far, there has been no law passed which states video game creators must have warnings.

A House of Commons committee has advised that loot boxes in video games should be regulated as gambling. They have also advised that children should be barred from purchasing loot boxes from video games as well as they can be...
Cooling case for iPhone from RAZER

Have you ever been gaming on your iPhone and noticed how warm the phone tends to get when you are handling it and gaming? It's pretty scary, especially how hot it does get over a short period of time and often leads us to turn off the game we were playing and leave the phone to cool down.

RAZER may have come up with a solution that many of us have been looking for when it comes to gaming on our iPhones and may prevent us from worrying about the heat. They have come up with a phone case that will prevent your phone from overheating when you do something that can be quite resource-heavy such as gaming.

Sounds cool, but what will the case be made of and how will it prevent my phone from overheating when I am in the middle of a game? More importantly, will the case also help protect my phone from bumps and scratches or is it solely for cooling purposes?

The phone case is made up of soft microfiber lining which will help prevent your phone from getting scratched, it will then have...
Playstation Shock! The X button is not called the X button

Many of us may have grown up playing the Playstation right from the very first Playstation until the latest console released by Sony which is the Playstation 4. As all Playstation gamers know, the buttons on a Playstation controller are X, circle, square and triangle or at least that is how many people say each button when they give advice on which button to press when playing a game and 81% of people who voted on what they would call the button X said they would say it as the letter.

Playstation has today come forward and shocked many Playstation users by saying that they have been calling the X button the wrong name for years. Surely not, right? I mean it's an X? Not according to the makers of the Playstation, Sony.

If you have been calling it the X button for years, you are wrong in doing so as the name for that button is in fact cross and not X!

With so many people saying it wrong for so long, will it be easy to just switch from saying X to saying cross? I know for sure I...
Weapons 2.0 not being worked on for Destiny 2: Shadowkeep

It was confirmed that Destiny 2 would be getting an armor 2.0 system when Shadowkeep launches on the 1st of October which is a big focus for Bungie right now. Many of us are very excited to see an update coming to the armor in Shadowkeep and we can not wait to get our hands on it, especially since it's looking to be shaking up the game in some pretty amazing and positive ways. This got many players of Destiny 2 talking and wondering as to whether or not Bungie may be working on a weapons 2.0 for the release of Shadowkeep as well.

Unfortunately, there will not be a weapons 2.0 release when Shadowkeep drops and the reason for that has been stated by Game director Luke Smith in which he said on the Kinda Funny Games show that the guns in the game were already pretty good meaning there was no need for any kind of overhaul of the weapons in Shadowkeep.

It is true, the weapons do seem to be in a good spot as it stands right now with Destiny 2 and any kind of changes made could...
Menagerie rewards buffed in Destiny 2

If you are a player of Destiny 2, you will know that a few weeks ago Bungie announced they were going to be doing a community event that would get buffed if players completed all the challenges within a week! True to their word, they did launch a community event for their players last week.

The community event gave players a whole week to kill a whole lot of Hive on Mars and by doing this, they would earn exclusive cosmetics. Players definitely did just as Bungie wanted them to do for this community event, they killed a whole lot of Hive on Mars, completed the challenges and Bungie did exactly what they said they would do, they buffed the Menagerie loot over the weekend which meant additional rewards will now be granted from its final chest every run and this buff will stay until Shadowkeep is released on October 1st.

It definitely seems as though players had a lot of fun completing the challenges that were set out for them by Bungie for this community event, could this mean that...

If you are a gamer the one thing you will always be looking out for is new ways to play games. On September 19th, 2019 Apple will be releasing their very own Arcade game subscription service which will cost $4.99 a month! Not only that but you will also be able to use your Xbox One and Playstation 4 controllers with the Arcade as it will support these devices on launch, how amazing is that!

What will the game subscription service allow me to do though many will ask? If you are the owner of an iPhone, iPad, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Mac or Apple TV you will be able to play games across all of these devices for that one low monthly price.

Much like other services such as Google's Stadia, Apple's game subscription service will not be streaming games to your devices, instead, you will be able to download the games to your device and play them once they are downloaded. That means whether you have an online connection or not, you will always be able to play your games.

Once the...

Microsoft is always striving to improve their latest console, the Xbox One and they have now announced more improvements coming to their Xbox One console with these improvements first coming to Xbox Insider members and then eventually coming to all Xbox One owners. What are these improvements though and will they be useful?

Wish list alerts will be coming to the Xbox One which will announce to the user when there is a price drop for an item on their list, this is amazing and definitely useful, especially if you use the wish list feature a lot and tend to miss when there are offers on the games you are looking to grab.

Mixer will also be integrating further into the Xbox One as well and will give users a new Mixer viewing experience which will be built right into the dashboard and will be a lot more simple and speedy. What will this mean for those of us who do use Mixer on the Xbox? What that will mean is you will no longer have to switch to another app to watch your favorite...
Games for PS4 get a makeover!

Playstation 4 exclusive games are now going to start looking a little different with a change made by Sony. It would seem that Sony wanted a way for their exclusive games to look a little more unique and be something they could be proud of.

Each game in the Only on Playstation collection will contain different artwork, this is definitely something that is a game collectors dream!

These games can be purchased from GAME in the UK

The question on every gamers mind though is, will they all be the same price and will pre-orders have the collectible artwork? The answer to that is no, pre-orders will not guarantee you the collectible artwork and all the games will have a different price, the artwork will also only be available whilst stocks last so you do have to be quick if you want these to add to a collection!

So far only 10 games have been announced as to having the collectible artwork all of which are of course Playstation Exclusives and these can be seen listed below

Sony reveals Playstation 5, coming Holiday 2020

Earlier today Sony officially revealed the Playstation 5. The PS5 is slated for a Holiday 2020 release. The Playstation 5 is said to have a new technology in it's controller and Sony says "don't call it a Dualshock 5" at least not yet........here is a quote from the official playstation blog:

To that end, there are two key innovations with the PlayStation 5’s new controller. First, we’re adopting haptic feedback to replace the “rumble” technology found in controllers since the 5th generation of consoles. With haptics, you truly feel a broader range of feedback, so crashing into a wall in a race car feels much different than making a tackle on the football field. You can even get a sense for a variety of textures when running through fields of grass or plodding through mud.

The second innovation is something we call adaptive triggers, which have been incorporated into the trigger buttons (L2/R2). Developers can program the resistance of the triggers so that you feel the...
